Serves 3 l Prep time: 15-20min


1lb Brussels sprouts

½ cup Ketologie chicken broth*

2 TBSP olive oil

1 tsp sea salt

¼ tsp ground black pepper

3 TBSP butter

¼ cup bacon bits

Parmesan shavings to serve

*16½ cup hot water + 2 tablespoons of broth powder


Trim the ends off the sprouts and slice in half lengthwise. Place in microwave safe bowl, add a small amount of water, cover and microwave on high for 3 minutes. Drain off the liquid.

While the sprouts are par-cooking in the microwave, heat the olive oil in a skillet or saute pan on medium-high. Add the Brussels sprouts and cook for 5-6 minutes or until golden, stirring throughout.

Add chicken broth, salt, pepper, butter and bacon bits. Stir and continue to cook for a further few minutes (3-4 should do or 6-8 if you prefer softer sprouts) to allow sauce to reduce/thicken slightly.

Serve with grated or shaved parmesan sprinkled over the top.
